Employee Stories
Jamie S. Having worked at Special Transit for more than 20 years, Jamie claims the title of longest-term employee. Jamie has been married for 33 years, has three children and five grandchildren. She serves on the social activities committee for Special Transit and most recently helped organize the year-end holiday party. In 2005, she placed third in Special Transit’s Roadeo, a driving skills competition, and was also recognized as a 2005 Safe Driver for driving the entire year with no safety infractions.
Steve B. Driving for Special Transit since the mid-90s, Steve is known among the staff as a migratory bus driver. He usually heads north to Alaska or Canada for the summer months where he often works as an outdoor recreation guide, but he’s also been known to wash dishes (in Antarctica, no less!) teach school and drive tour buses. “I like to collect jobs,” he said. “I enjoy seasonal work, and it keeps me busy with traveling between positions.” Steve likes working for Special Transit because it “compliments my tour-leading work and is very flexible.” Steve was recognized as a 2005 Safe Driver. |
